Bought a used refurbished light gaming PC from eBay. It all started after either after the newest windows 10 update or updating my graphics card. I did a system restore to the point when I first booted the computer, didn’t fix it. But the computer restarted itself and changed its resolution to x from x and it’s refresh rate from hz to 64hz.

The monitor issued seemed to be fixed, but decided to do a new clean install anyways. Everything went fine, did all the updates and when it was time to restart, that’s where this problem started.

It restarted itself a few times but after another one, the monitor just went black with no cursor. The monitor is working, I can change settings on the monitor but can’t do anything other than that. There’s no windows logo or loading screen. I’ve tried restarting about dozens times to get into recovery mode to boot into safe mode and nothing. I’ve taken out the ram and placed it back in along with the CMOS battery and video card.

I’ve tried a different monitor as well, same problem. I used a HDMI cable, same problem. The monitor does take a few seconds to actually cut on when I power up the desktop.

One thing to note, during the windows updating, I did run into one problem that resolved on its own. I got a “out of range” message. But it went away and the computer went back to updating. I did read the computer may be sending the signal to the wrong monitor because it thinks I have a dual monitor setup? But I’m not sure. I’m lost here. I don’t have much computer knowledge, so I don’t know what else to do.

I really don’t want to have to send the computer back. The shipping costs won’t be cheap. Dell Quad Core i5 3. Posted 28 May – AM. I see the window’s logo and the circle of dots to indicate that windows 10 is loading. Then I hear the windows start up sound but then I get a blank screen. My monitor goes into sleep mode as if nothing is inputting to it.
